CSG’s Board Chairman Li Qingkui Meets With Ousainou Darboe - Gambia's Minister of Foreign Affairs

 

        Guangzhou - Mr. Li Qingkui, Board Chairman of China Southern Power Grid (CSG), recently held meetings with Ousainou Darboe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Gambia, who paid an official visit to Guangzhou.

        Officials of both countries, including Fafa Sanyang, Minister of Petroleum and Energy of Gambia, Dembo Badjie, Gambia's Ambassador to China, and Zhou Yuxiao, China's Special Envoy to the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), attended the meeting.

        Mr. Li extended his personal greetings to Mr. Darboe and his delegation and introduced CSG's excellent operational performance, with emphasis on CSG's efforts to promote international business, clean energy development and technological innovation.

        Mr. Li said, "CSG will continue to tap into its advantages in technologies, management, capital and talents to explore more possibilities of cooperation with Gambia in the fields of energy development.”

        Mr. Darboe expressed his gratitude to CSG for the company’s gracious hospitality and willingness for cooperation.

        He said, "Gambia has an increasing demand for electricity because of its rapid economic and social development, but there is a severe shortage of power supply. And technological difficulties are hard to overcome. So Gambia would like to enhance cooperation with CSG and other international companies.”

        Minister Sanyang introduced the current status of Gambia's electric power industry and its future development plans. He also expressed hope to promote a vibrant cooperation with CSG in the fields of technology and talent development.

        The delegation also paid a visit to CSG's exhibition hall, where they gained a better understanding of CSG's innovative, green and win-win development.

        Director Generals of CSG's Administration Office, Planning and Development Department and International Cooperation Department, and Board Chairman of CSG International also attended the meeting.
