CPICU consists of the Congress, the Council, the Secretariat and several Working Committees. The Congress is composed of representatives from member companies. The Council is composed of the president, the vice president and the secretary general. The president of the first session of the Union is the representative from China Electricity Council, one of the initiators of the Union. The executive vice president is the representative from China Electric Power Construction Association. The secretary general is recommended by the president.
