Shu Yinbiao Attended the China-Germany High-level Dialogue on Innovation

        On June 1 local time, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended the China-Germany High-level Dialogue on Innovation together with Chancellor Angela Merkel during his visit to Germany. In the meeting, the two leaders met with Chinese and German business representatives, listened to their speeches and then made important remarks. Shu Yinbiao, Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China attended the meeting on invitation and delivered a speech with a theme of deepening cooperation in the development of technical standards and making joint efforts to expand collaboration in countries along the Belt and Road with Germany.

        Chairman Shu Yinbiao pointed out in his speech that the world is now vigorously undergoing a new round of energy and industrial revolution. In China the "Internet Plus", "Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation" and  "Made in China 2025" plans are giving rise to an unprecedented industrialization. From January to April this year, the total power consumption of China saw a year-on-year growth of 6.7%, particularly the increase of electronic equipment manufacturing, IT, computer software and other hi-tech industries was rather fast. This reflects a strong momentum of the Chinese economy which aims to maintain medium to high speed growth and march toward medium to high end level.

        Chairman Shu Yinbiao pointed out that China shall learn from Germany, a country famous for its pursuit of perfection and craftsmanship. State Grid and its German peers have already established friendly cooperative relations in the past few years, and are expected to go further in the coming future under the principle of mutual respect and equality.

        While adding that State Grid will intensify cooperation in the development of technical standards and expand collaboration with Germany, Shu Yinbiao also expressed his hope to see more investment facilitations from the German government. He indicated that State Grid will strengthen bilateral cooperation in researches on new energy interconnection and consumption, energy storage & new material, as well as EV battery charging, and accelerate the alignment of the "Made in China 2025" plan with the German INDUSTRIE 4.0 standard,  emphasizing cooperation in a standardized EV battery charging facility, new energy development and smart city construction. State Grid will also actively explore new investment opportunities in energy infrastructure sector in Germany and other EU countries, and further push forward cooperation with German companies in countries along the Belt and Road and other markets.

        During his stay in Germany, Chairman Shu also joined the Fourth Meeting of the China-Germany Economic Advisory Committee and CEO Roundtable, and visited German Mobility and Social Transformation Innovation Center. Representatives from SGCC Department of International Cooperation and State Grid European Office were also present in those activities.
