KOEBERG nuclear power plant located in Cape Town, South Africa, which is the only nuclear power plant in African continent. The owner ESKOM called for bids of 6 Steam generators replacement for 2 units in the worldwide at the beginning of 2011.AREVA and Westinghouse were involved in the project bidding. Finally, AREVA and ESKOM signed a contract to the steam generators replacement project in September 2014.
        Shanghai Electric and AREVA made their first contact with South African steam generators replacement project in November 2011. After about 25 rounds of negotiations, the subcontract of 6 steam generators replacement projects was finally signed in March 2015.
        The project is a great significance to China. It is the first time that nuclear island main equipment manufactured by Chinese supplier has been exported to the international market by cooperation with World-renowned nuclear power manufacturer. It's also an important implement the strategy of "going global".
