The GDHA 500kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project, including two 500kV substations, three 400kV substation extensions and a 500kV power transmission line (1,380km in total), boasts the longest line, highest voltage and largest capacity in east Africa.
        The project is SGCC’s first general contracting project in Africa. The huge project involved more than 10,000 Chinese and foreign constructors, and attracted domestic and foreign peers including Egypt, Kenya and other neighbors which visited the construction site. The project, adopting Chinese power technology, equipment and standards, has explored a constructive way combining Chinese experiences and African characteristics for African power development.
