Combodia (Kampuchea) Phnom Penh - Battambang 230kV power transmission line project is developed under BOT (build - operate - transfer) pattern. Project operation period is 25 years, 294 kilometers of 230kV transmission line; 3 sets of 230kV substations; the total investment is 131 million dollars. This project commenced in November 2009, completed in April 2012 and put into commercial operation in February 15th, 2013.
This power grid project has been running efficiently and safely since it was put into operation, and has created good economic and social benefits. The Kampuchea grid project has created a number of "first": the first Chinese investment in the construction of power grid project, Kampuchea first national power grid project, the first power grid project run by foreigners in Kampuchea, the first overseas power grid project of CDT. The project has also achieved the shortest construction period in Kampuchea's large power transmission and transformation grid construction history.
The construction of the power grid has made positive contributions to improving the current situation of Kampuchea's electricity and Kampuchea's economic development, and ensuring the independence and safety of Kampuchea's energy. It has played an important role in improving the living of the local people as well.
