The Project was to extend 2 x 150 MW generator bays and 2 x 200 MVA main transformer bays. System voltage is 220 kV / 110 kV/generator side voltage; the output voltage will be step-up to 220 kV and connecting to the current 220 kV Switchyard. The construction site is located in northwest city of Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan. The completion of the project was a major step forward for TBEA of being a global reliable electric service provider. At the same time, the Project also drives the export of Chinese domestic Standards and technologies, products and labor, greatly improving the influence of Chinese mechanical and electrical products. Phase II project would generate 2.2 billion KWH each year and supply heat for an area of more than 4300000 square meters. The Project comprehensively relieved the power shortage problem and winter heat supplying problem of Dushanbe; the project also drives the economic and social development of Tajikistan, and improves people's living conditions and environment.
        At the Commencement Ceremony of the Project, President Xi Jinping highly commented on TBEA’s contribution to the “One Belt and One road” initiative and praised the Project as” a landmark project of the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, and a symbol of friendship to the two nations” .he also encouraged TBEA to “act at good opportunity, make persistent efforts, and bring more warmth to Tajik people.”
