On May 16, Wang Jianping, chairman of the Board of Energy China met with President Mauricio Macri of the Republic of Argentina, who was in Beijing to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The two sides held friendly talks about further enhancing collaboration in power and Infrastructure construction in Argentina.
        Wang introduced about the overall strength of Energy China and the development and achievements for international business of China Gezhouba Group (CGGC), one of the leading subsidiaries of Energy China. He also reported about the latest progress of the construction of the Nestor Kirchner and Jorge Cepernic Hydroelectric Projects, on the Santa Cruz River in Argentina. Energy China is one of the largest comprehensive solutions providers for the power industry in China and globally. With strong capabilities across the full industry chain, namely in power planning, survey design, construction and contracting, equipment manufacturing, investment and operation, Energy China provides customers with one-stop integrated solutions and full life-cycle project management services. Wang expressed, leveraging on the technological, financing and management strength, Energy China will take the Nestor Kirchner and Jorge Cepernic Hydroelectric Projects as an opportunity and fully participate in the power and infrastructure construction of Argentina.
        Macri spoke highly of the comprehensive strength of Energy China, and reaffirmed the importance of the Nestor Kirchner and Jorge Cepernic Hydroelectric Projects in promoting the social and economic development of Argentina and improving the livelihood of the local people. He welcomed Energy China and CGGC to participate in the power and infrastructure construction of Argentina. 
        Wang highly appreciated the concern and support by the Argentine Government and the President to the Projects. He said that this project was the largest electric power project undertaken by Chinese enterprises in the international market so far. As the major EPC contractor for this project, CGGC will strictly perform the contract with meticulous organization and reasonable management, thus making this project an excellent one which embodies the friendship between China and Argentina.
