On September 18, commissioned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, a Thai media delegation made a special visit to Shenhua Group. Wang Shumin, deputy general manager of Shenhua Group, received the delegation and answered journalists’ questions on the development trend of coal-fired power generation, near-zero emission of coal-fired power plants, and other related issues.
        Wang elaborated on the achievements Shenhua has made over the past five years in the research and innovative practice of near-zero emission of coal-fired power plants. He stressed that Shenhua Group is willing to help Thai coal-fired power plants increase efficiency and improve environmental protection through clean coal-fired power project construction and near-zero emission technology transfer, so as to achieve win-win development.
        Wang also noted that energy resources, environment and climate are major issues of global concern. Though different countries and regions in their respective development stages may have different solutions, all nations coexist as members of the global village, or a community of shared future, so they all hope that issues of energy supply security, environmental protection and climate change will be tackled soon.
        The Thai delegation highly acclaimed Shenhua’s practice of the clean energy development strategy and its achievements in near-zero emission of coal-fired power plants. The members expressed their anticipation for Shenhua’s support and assistance in environmentally friendly renovation of Thai coal-fired power plants and clean coal-fired power generation.
