Deputy General Manager Wang Shumin Attends AMEM35 & ASEAN Energy Business Forum in Manila

        The 35th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM35) and ASEAN Energy Business Forum kicked off on September 27 in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Energy ministers from ASEAN countries and other Asia-Pacific countries, as well as many energy experts, participated in AMEM35. Deputy General Manager Wang Shumin of Shenhua Group attended the ASEAN Energy Business Forum.
        At the forum, Wang Shumin delivered a keynote speech entitled “Innovation and Practice of China Shenhua’s Clean Coal-Fired Power Generation Technology,” shedding light on Shenhua Group’s achievements in R&D and application of ultra-low emission coal-fired power generation technology as well as its attempts in the field of carbon capture and storage (CCS). His speech received warm applause from attendees.
        On the sidelines of the meeting, Wang had a short discussion with Christopher G. Zamora, Manager of APAEC Programme of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), and Beni Suryadi, Senior Research Analyst for Policy Research and Analytics Programme of ACE. Both sides reached consensus on further cooperation in promoting clean coal-fired power generation technology to ASEAN countries. Wang also sincerely invited ACE members and energy industry representatives from ASEAN countries to visit Shenhua to experience its technological progress and achievements in coal-fired power generation. Afterwards, Wang exchanged views with Benjamin Sporton, Chief Executive of the World Coal Association (WCA), on enhancing cooperation between Shenhua and WCA in the future.
        AMEM is an annual meeting of energy department officials, industry insiders and business representatives from ASEAN countries. ASEAN countries take turns to host the meeting.
