Guohua Power Wins Indonesia’s “2017 Most Innovative Power Company” Award

Recently, Guohua Power Company’s coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra, Indonesia, received “2017 Most Innovative Power Company” award, the highest honor in Indonesian electricity industry, jointly granted by Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and State Electricity Company of Indonesia. Thanks to its stable production, advanced technology, efficient management and harmonious corporate culture, the power plant also won three other major awards, namely “Top 5 Power Companies”, “Top 5 Innovative Power Companies”, and “Top 5 Power Companies (100MW and above)”. This was the third time the power plant won significant honors of Indonesia’s power industry following the “Top 10 Power Companies” in 2015 and the “Best Independent Power Producers” in 2016.
By the end of this October, Guohua’s power plant in South Sumatra had achieved 2,310 days of safe operations, with its generating units running for 4,382 hours at a 99-percent Equivalent Availability Factor, which makes the facility a forerunner in Indonesia’s power industry. Its emissions of dust, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides were 0.04, 0.35 and 0.74 grams per kWh, respectively, far way better than the emission targets of the Southeast Asian country.
The South Sumatra power plant is Guohua Power Company’s first-ever overseas project, which heralded Guohua’s international expansion of its coal-fired power generation business. Its safe, stable operation has been highly recognized by Indonesian industry insiders. The recent awards it has received are testament to its leadership position in Indonesia’s power industry in scientific and technological innovation, demonstrate its technological and management strengths, burnish the global image and brand of National Energy Investment Group (NEIG), and pave the way for NEIG’s further expansion into the Indonesian market.
