At the National Science and Technology Award Conference held in Beijing on Jan. 8, former Shenhua Group took home First Prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award for its two major projects resulting from integration of technological research and production, namely, Modern Coal Chemical Technology Development Project and Brand-new Boiler Technology Development Project.
        The Modern Coal Chemical Technology Development Project features core technology of direct coal liquefaction, a world-advanced technology that provides solutions to many of the world’s most difficult problems in the industry, allowing China to become a global leader in the field of modern coal chemical industry.
        The Brand-new Boiler Technology Development Project has established a key theoretical and technological system in related field — a milestone event that signifies China’s success in entering the world’s top leaders in CFB boiler technology.
        Over the past few years, Shenhua’s efforts in promoting scientific and technological innovation have generated direct economic benefits of nearly 20 billion yuan annually on average, providing technological support for building a world-class modern energy conglomerate. So far, Shenhua has received 29 national-level science and technology awards as well as three China Gold Patent Awards.
