Necati YAMAC, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, headed a

        During July 25-27, 2016,upon the invitation of Mr. Wang Binghua, Chairman of SPIC and SNPTC, Mr. Necati YAMA?, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey (MENR), led a delegation to visit SPIC and SNPTC’s Beijing headquarters and relevant subsidiaries and industry partners of SPIC.
 
        Mr. Wang Binghua expressed his gratitude for the long-term support and assistance offered by MENR to SPIC. He introduced the progress of AP1000 project and the preparation of CAP1400 demonstration project, and proposed concrete suggestions on bilateral cooperation in such fields  as technological training for nuclear power staff, localization and better nuclear safety regulation.
 
        Mr. YAMA? noted that this visit to China by the delegation just concurred with the preparatory phase for the fuel loading of the first reactors of China’s AP1000 projects.  Thus the delegation could understand more deeply the development of Gen III nuclear power technology in China. He hoped to further share nuclear power development experience with China so as to promote the energy restructuring and industry upgrade of Turkey.

        In Shandong, the delegation successively inspected Haiyang AP1000 NPP and  CAP1400 demonstration project, and conducted in-depth exchanges of viewpoints on nuclear power technology, government approval process, HR training, public communication, modular construction and project management.
 
        In Shanghai, the delegation successively visited Shanghai Electric and Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute (SNERDI), extended congratulations on the smooth manufacturing progress for key equipment of CAP1400 demonstration project, conducted an in-depth exchange on the design optimization of CAP series. The team also learnt about the design review, license application, core and fuel design for CAP1400 reactors, and the preliminary work progress for the 3rd nuclear power plant in Turkey.

        This delegation, approved by Mr. Berat Albayrak (Minister of MENR), includes officials from MENR and senior representatives from Elektrik ?retim A.?. (E?A?), aiming to deeply investigate CAP1400 technology and the construction preparation of the demonstration project, learn about the construction progress of AP1000 self-reliant project, so as to learn the experience on China’s Gen III nuclear power self-reliant innovation and equipment localization, and provide decision reference for nuclear power development plan of Turkish Government and construction of its 3rd NPP Project. Mr. YAMA? expressed that, in this visit, the delegation made site investigations on China’s nuclear power projects, relevant equipment manufacture, and design and R&D entities, more comprehensively understood the general strength of SPIC and SNPTC, and hereby have full confidence for future cooperation between Chinese and Turkish enterprises.

        During the visit in China, the Turkish delegation, accompanied by Mr. Wei Suo, Vice President of SPIC, met with senior officials of National Energy Administration (NEA). NEA indicated that it would continue to support SNPTC to participate in the construction of the 3rd NPP Project of Turkey, hoping to further strengthen cooperation between China and Turkey in the energy filed.
